Ironically, our homepage for our website formerly had picture with a woman standing in front of a mountain. As a co-owner, I always imagined a storyline about an individual finding freedom and liberation when I viewed this picture. As someone who rated the lowest possible score on a personality assessment for seeing and enjoying nature, I just noticed nature and paid little attention. And I accepted the assessment and moved on with my life.
Luckily, I had an opportunity to visit some friends in Utah, and this picture below illustrates the view out of the window. As I was eating dinner, which consisted of fresh vegetables from their garden and salmon they had recently caught from a fishing trip, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of everything. This image captured my attention. I paid attention to the views and embraced nature's greatness and calmness at the same time. It took me to a deep state of reflection and tranquility. And this occurred from slowing myself down and enjoying nature.
What are you missing out on in life simply because you are not seeing and enjoying what is in front of you? What do you need to pay more attention to? Nature, kids, family, or your friends? Take some time this week and pay attention to what is around you. Everything that is in your path is placed there intentionally. Enjoy it, and don't let life pass you by without noticing these simple pleasures.
